Sierra
Native Alliance Project
This
project is about building a social alliance network that
unites native people, private & public sector utility
provideters and community outreach organizations to ensure
the survival and restoration of traditional cultural values
and property, including Chinook Salmon. The goal is to bring
about ecological, economic, social and spiritual vitality
to a local community while engaging regional and global
communities to collaborate in the process.
Enabling
new communication lines to be opened between leaders in
these respective communities, the community is moving forward
in the following ways:
- enabling dialog between indigenous leaders and the community that has resulted in the re-establishment
of tribal ceremony, not held for over 150 years.
- establishing
methods that uncover consensus for actions that will improve
community awareness...leading to respect, healing, and
caring for each other and the Earth.
- identifying
and engaging resources--people, technology, funding--to
carry out consensus goals.

Farmers Direct Food Distribution Project
This
project supports a social alliance network to unite local
farmers, commercial buyers and a central farmers' market association in distributing and enabling local restaurants,
schools, hospitals
and others to purchase farm fresh produce direct from local
producers. Web-enabled
technology plays a major role in building efficiencies into
the distribution system. The result of this program enhances
the economic vitality of local food producers, local economy
and provides healthy farm-fresh produce to local institutions.
